History
Late 2002-2005
Police Cops took a slightly more forward approach than the Green Party Jedis, a band consisting of the same line-up. That being said, in the begining it was very much a performance art project. The first show this group played involved them making noise and yelling unclear lyrics while multiple TVs played home movies of the band members they had made as kids, pretending to be on tv by taping themselves in front of a television set while their favorite cartoons were on. While that is an awesome description of a Green Party Jedis show, the first Police Cops show was with Exit Drills in January 2003 with their full cop-outfits on.
The Police Cops attracted attention for their hilarious live shows in which they appeared in costume as their alter-egos, a group of sleazy police officers with names like "Chief McQueef," and insulted the audience while playing songs based on their characters, most of which mentioned anal cavity searches prominently.
