The Creek Bros.

From The Secret History of the Cedar Valley

This band was awesome because it made you guilty for watching it.

But hey the lead guitarist had a killer time. The Timmy idea from

South Park for real. Chip, Jon, and the lead guitarist. Good Job. (The guitarist's name was Scotty, I believe.)

I don't think the idea was as malicious as that makes it sound. Its a fine line to tread, and I think they did offend a few people, but when it comes down to it, Scotty had a great time, and I think thats what the intentions of the other members were.

the origins of the band are somewhat unclear, however heres what we know. Scotty had downsyndrome. he wanted to play some rock music, and wanted to play a show, the other members of The Creek Bros were enlisted to make this a reality. The creek brothers played In the middle of a No Consensus set. and were met with mixed reactions from the audiance... some were laughing some offended, otheres not sure what they should be. In the End, it didnt really matter what any of the audiance thought, because Scotty had a good time... though perhaps the Reverb was not the best venue for this show...maybe the hearst center would have been better. someplace without beer, and people thinking it was cool like southpark.

Actually it is best summed up by what Jim said to me Blake while it was on: "We're gonna go to hell for watching this." And then he looked at it with the "I'm doing something bad and getting away with it" lit up eyes we did things bad and got away with them throughout all school years. Very memorable.
