History

Formed in 1984 in the basement of a suburban ranch home in Iowa City by founding members PJ Partyhead and Tim. Their first show was in May of 1985 in "the basement of this little Commie collective bookstore" for a group of enthusiastic drunks who didn't notice they were out of tune.

Their sound was influenced by thrash metal, early English punk, and hardcore, though they did not conform to any of those styles and tried to push themselves to a more unique sound. The scratchy laryngitic vocals of PJ Partyhead were instantly recognizable and defined their unique sound.

From 1985 to 1987, they put out two self-released cassettes and one LP.

They broke up in 1987 but reformed a few months later as SDT replacing vocalist PJ Partyhead with Bob Hall of Iowa Beef Experience.
