History

In 1985 Jeff Eastman, Matthew Hundley, Jonathan Ross, Joe Sims, Dan Harles and Jim Shin were loosely working on putting together a rock cover band. When the cover band concept fell apart Eastman, Hundley and Sims brought Jason Kerns into the picture and the Middle Class Punks were born singing about AIDS, politics and faux Italian hardcore rants. Eventually Sims was replaced by Nick Durnin of Hudson. Jeff Eastman was later dropped and the trio incarnation was dubbed Static Farm with Matt Hundley as the primary songwriter. Following the lead of bands like the Drednex (and an eclectic mix of musical interests) they played a mixture of punk, pop, rock, and reggae.
