History

Formed in the late fall of 2006, David Woods (The Emblem), Andrew Philp (Safie, On Our Way, No Techno) and Bryce Philp (FATM, Turd Burglars, On Our Way) had a vision to write music in the vein of Kid Dynamite, 88 Fingers Louie and various inspirational melodic punk bands they grew up listening to. They recorded a 6 song EP with local recording legend Chris Brown entitled "Talkin' Shit" The Switch University (DIY punk/hardcore house) hosted So Long's first show in which they handed out the 6 song Talkin' Shit EP for free.

After complications in the writing process, they recruited Josh Sparks(Spirit of the Stairway, Dameria) to fulfill drumming duties temporarily. This sparked a whole new direction for the band. They recorded a 3 song demo with Chris Brown in the Spring of 2007 which was unreleased.

This line up was short lived. In the summer of 2007 Kell Ford(Doctor Groove) and Jake Doll were added to the mix. The permanency of this line up produced the bands first full length, which contained 4 previously recorded songs and 5 new ones is unreleased and temporarily unnamed. This fresh line up built the momentum for extensive booking in the Midwest.

From sharing the stage with Against me!, Crime in Stereo, For Science, Modern Life is War, Fucked Up, Regret, Permanent, Shook Ones, Hour of the Wolf to losing band members left and right, So Long! seems to have a lot of fight left.
