History
It may be a stretch to put Smelt Feed in a list of Ragman bands, but they shared a member with Exit Drills (Josh Schneiderman) and played shared a few gigs as well as the Clarksville practice space (Chad Vance's basement) with them besides. They had a raw mid-tempo punk sound and a nutty sense of humor that made them very endearing and always fun. Eariy versions of the band had Josh Scheiderman on lead vocals, Randy Forrest on drums, and Cody Brown on guitar; later Cody Brown moved on to more lucrative musical opportunities (such as A Soldier's Home and The Beat Strings) and was replaced by The Drag Slicks leader Chris Hamilton, and Schneiderman and Forrest began trading off drum and vocal duties.
