Quotes
This is a quote from an e-mail from Ed Nehring [1](The Problems/ The Preachers/Human Error) dated 11/11/03:
"Red Throb (1985-1987) Red Throb made quite an impact on Iowa City. We were a really young, snotty and vicious band in the vein of the Stooges or the Dead Boys. We said what we thought and pissed alot of people off in the process. I have always thought I have had a good heart but at this time in my life I was definitely behaving like a big ego rock star asshole. Our shows always had an violent feeling about them but the songs were solid and our only full length recording was one of the first to be recorded at an actual recording studio for an Iowa City punk band. It was titled Bend Over Here Cums Red Throb. It sold very well locally. Red throb was Jonny Quest (Jon Cummins)-bass, Kylie Oi Master Buddin-Guitar, Gram Brisben-drums, Eddie Sin (Ed Nehring)- vocal. fortunatly we all went on to be really nice guys! "
This is a quote from an e-mail from Kim ([2]) dated November 17th, 2004:
"I saw many of the bands that you have posted info on numerous occasions through those years but there were also some bands that were more popular in the underground scene than those mentioned. Boys With Toys, the Woodies, Bent Scepters, Letters from the Circus, the Hollowmen, 4 Million, the Cause, Red Throb and my favorite was a band called Something Fierce (whose frontman was a professor in the English dept) were some of the bands that were frequently playing in Iowa City during that time.
