i joined this band with eric dodge in high school. we were a mess & didnt get serious (i use this term loosely) until after school. we tried having me play guitar & my lil bro do the drumming, but it didnt work well. i moved back behind the kit & we got dick bender, aka sam buck, to play guitar & record our first ep. Alex Bowes joined as guitarist after dick left. we played the reverb a lot, des moines twice i think & a house show here & there. do i miss this band? fuck no! Jim Averill does, but thats his problem.
dodge & i had lost sam as our guitarist & hadn't met alex yet, so i suggested joining up with Jim Averill & Jay Johnson to get the police cops running again. Casey Lott was now too busy to be in a band & Blake Badker had some health problems, so they were in need of a rhythm section. we joined up, tightened up old songs & wrote new ones. it was a much better band than the clark kents.
blake & i decided to record some songs one night before he moved to utah, so i brought over some gear & we made songs about whatever came on the tv or whatever we could think of in a drunken blur.
