Lizard Friend
From The Secret History of the Cedar Valley
Local Cedar Falls based Grunge band 1990-1994
Band started in Mason City which later moved to Cedar Falls. Unique group which held both an extensive folk acoustic set and an extensive heavier grunge set chock full of grinding electic guitars and blazing drums and vocals. They were sure to have their entire bar crowd moshing and headbanging using grunged out versions of their acoustic instrumental music. The band's original compositions featured complex musical struture and catchy riffs... sounds reminescent of the "Throw-Your-Baby" energy found in the music of Smashing Pumkins (Most comparable to their knockout 'Gish' album).
