Flags Above Paradise

Flags Above Paradise is believed to have taken the Ragman ideal to an unworkable extreme. The band, composed primarily of disinterested non-musicians loosely shepherded by the slightly more experienced Matt McGuire and Joe Riehle overtly accomplished little beyond approximately three band practices and a collection of largely forgotten songs. At the same time, the band's very composition was an accomplishment in itself due to what were likely unique experiences for the band members that they would not otherwise have had. Thus, the band in some ways was a weaker microcosm of Ragman Records as a whole.

The band was believed to have hit its peak in the second practice. Not is this a handy convention in its promotion of symetry, but this was also the practice in which this guy named Michael joined the band with enthusiasm and the song, "Take Me In Your Arms and Rock Me Baby." It was during this practice that the bands' more habitual members indubitably saw a vision of what the band might become, of that inscrutable Eden whose location is marked by distant flags. The man had spirit and charisma and was never seen again.

Band Members

There were others, but I can't remember who they were.

Lore

  • The song, "Here Come's The Rat", which was later performed by E.D.I.T.H. was maybe written for this band.
  • Another Matt McGuire song was something about a faun.
  • Monique of Bremen (named so for this Wiki so as not to be confused with The Circus' Monique who is from Canadia) translated some of the songs into German.
  • Band member Delene is Joe Riehle's adopted sister who he didn't know very well and has since disappeared. Before she left, she said she was moving to Seattle. He later followed her there but hasn't seen her yet.

Caffeine Extreme Part 1

Stars and hearts and smiling men
Lips progressively telling us what's not casual
Leather pants something what are writing
Don't tell me it's not the truth

I think about it all the time
Prost and gesundheit stars and hearts
Smiling at drawings on pages discrepensized truth

Take Me In Your Arms And Rock Me Baby

Take me in your arms and rock me baby
Take me in your arms and roll
