Blüdy Noz
From The Secret History of the Cedar Valley

History
After first becoming aware of each other through dial-up BBSes and Chuck Hoffman's self-released TapeSNotRecords tapes, Hoffman and Joe Riehle met in person very much by chance in Cedar Falls and found kindred yet complementary spirits in each other. Such began many fruitful years of musical collaboration in a variety of projects, but the beginning was humble. Originally calling themselves Bloody Nose, they produced two cassettes of primitive noisy jamming on guitars and found-objects, Yo' Mama Wants To Kill My Harmonica and Molly. Riehle asked his mom for a 4-track for Christmas in 1995, and this ushered in a whole new range of musical possibilities that the 2-man band took to after changing their name. The 90-minute cassette The Bible Tapes features more fleshed-out song ideas as well as odd improvisations and a wider variety of actual musical instruments.
In 1996, Hoffman suggested that the two recruit more band members to play their songs live. What began with the intention of being a live version of Blüdy Noz became No Consensus, while Hoffman and Riehle continued to record other stuff as Bludy Noz until at least 2002, releasing the cassette tapes Chronic Moronic, Think Yourself Stupid, and Kicken It Old-Skool on Ragman Records. An outtakes/rarities compilation called Epilepathy also exists. Blüdy Noz did only one live performance as Bludy Noz itself, at the Cedar Falls American Legion Hall, utilizing a drum machine to perform several songs including "Shitfuck," "No Gina," and "Red Pop II." Lyrics
Action Adventure
In the nick of time he leaves
He doesn't have time to think
"What a Woman," before he sweeps her in his arms
A man without time to think
Has no time for feelings
Still he knows she can't resist his charms
They're living in a world of action-adventure
But when this story's done there'll be no one to tell
She didn't work at all for the gain that it got her
But the price is incalcuable
Saved from a world of people that would love her
And the weight and the oppression of unwanted love
Both good and bad guys head to head coming to get her
She's yet to learn which has one
They're living in a world of action-adventure
No winners but someone takes all
He's the master of ceremonies a real go-get-her
And that's just what he got
Think fast way too fast
Satisfaction will come quickly
Only to one day be gone
The track runs around again
To the city of Lonely
Population eternally one
