History
Sometime in between other things, when Ben was free to sit for a time, the three band members formed a band. To keep Ben still, they gave him sticks. To make them useful, they gave him drums. The rest, at first, was resurrection.
The other two, Joe and Jon, brought before Ben's altar of activity their corpses of tattered tunes in hopes that whatever power was lost along with the missing link would pound them into life. Ben obliged them for a time, placated by their compliments and the novelty of sedentary legs and moving with his arms without brachiation.
Their hyper-verbosity trapped in high-minded rhyme and self-assimilation soon bored the ape and so he left in increments until he was gone, traveling through some wildly treed landscape, away from the spoiled fields devoted pointlessly to feeding large bellies, chirruping at twilight and feeding fire to the dawn.
