History
Ball was a zine started by Jason Krueger and Chris Vanderwall dedicated to the the game kids played on 19th St., The Ball Game. The zine never got off the planning stage, though short articles, a couple of interviews and a cover were made. Interviews included Jason, Brendel Krueger and John Kane.

Some of the interview material still exists and here is a transcript for the interview with John Kane conducted at the Kruegers' house by Chris and Jason after John took an extended bathroom break.
Q: So, ah, John, how did you get the name John Kane? A: From My Uncle, I guess
Q: What do you think of people calling you one of the only living pros of The Ball Game? A: I find it quite flattering.
Q: What's your favorite in between Ball Game snack? A: Boogers, not! How about pizza, Canadian.
Q: What's your favorite TV program? A: The Torkelsons
Q: What's your favorite TV brand? A: 67" Toshiba.
Q: What's your favorite soda? A: Surge, no.
Q: What do you see when you look into the mirror? A: My reflection
Q: If you could be a superhero, who would you be? A: mmmm uh The Tick
Q: Do you have a strange and unusual collection of hats? A: No uhhu
Q: What goes through your mind when you do the head pass? A: Ouch, that kinda stings.
Q: If your head were a lb of veal, how much would it weigh? A: A few hundred/about pesetas. Did you say a pound of veal? Er, a block of veal (Yes). Oh boy.
Q: What's your favorite soda? A: I still don't have one.
Q: So, ah, what's your favorite part of The Ball Game? A: Harassing the door, ah.
Q: And your a blue belt in karate? A: No, hun hun. Can, uh, I scratch this table, uh, I'm just kidding.
Q: When you see people playing The Ball Game and they throw the ball over your car, what do you do or say? A: Oh sh.. crap. Oh I have to get that, DOH!
Q: So, I hear your dad's a fireman. Do you mind him touching lots of hose? A: Is tha... that's a. That's a pun, isn't it.
Q: How many calories are in a Pepsi cola? A: 32 or 30, 30, 30
Q: Who's your ball game hero? A: Uh, what's The Ball Game? (Interviewers explain) Oh, myself. (And besides yourself, do you have any other Ball Game heros?) Yeah, Jason. (Why is he your Ball Game hero and what makes him good at The Ball Game?) hmm, hmm, because of, he has long hair.
Q: Say something funny. A: Cockadoodledoo.
Q: Do you own any sexual toys? A: ...No, comment, no, comment, ah no, comment. hmmha.
Q: Say, ah, why did you play you last game of The Ball Game? A: I don't know. Like This, hu, what?
Q: What do you think of Ball Magazine? A: Excellent in its on little way. Ball, food, Ball, food Ball food HA, HUM. From Two stupid dogs. Can I have the sugar now? Give me some sugar, Brendel. DAMNIT! Give me some sugar, Brendel!
- The question about hat collections is a reference to Ben Judas, also known as Hat Judas, and a hat John got that looked like Ben's.
